ARIS · DATA HANDLING
Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED 20 SEPTEMBER 2026
ARIS is a personal study planner. It was built by Rafael Amador for his own use and runs on his own computer. It has one user. There are no accounts to create, nothing to sign up for, and it is not offered as a service to anyone else.
With your permission, ARIS reads events from your Google Calendar using the scope calendar.readonly. That is the only Google permission it requests.
Read-only is enforced by Google, not merely promised here. Even if the software attempted to create, edit or delete a calendar event, Google would refuse the request, because the access token it holds does not carry permission to write.
It reads event titles, times, locations, descriptions and which calendar each event belongs to. It does this so it can draw your timetable and show exam details alongside your coursework.
Onto the hard drive of the computer running ARIS, and nowhere else. Calendar events are cached in a local file so the app still shows your schedule when the machine is offline.
There is no ARIS server. Your calendar data is never uploaded, transmitted to a third party, sold, rented, used for advertising, or used to train any model. No analytics product receives it. No one other than the person at the keyboard can see it.
ARIS's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The cached calendar file stays on the machine until it is overwritten by a newer fetch or deleted by hand. Deleting the application directory removes every copy of it.
The authorisation token is stored separately, outside the application folder, in a file readable only by the account that created it. It is never placed in version control and never leaves the machine.
Access can be revoked at any moment, without asking anyone, at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking it stops all further reads immediately. Deleting the local cache file removes what has already been read.
ARIS is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone other than its single user.
If what the software does with data ever changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no one else to notify.
Questions about any of the above go to rafam2406@gmail.com.
